How it works

The Infinite USB Memory (IUM) uses wireless technology (802.11 standards) to connect to a Host Computer and uses the Host’s hard drive as if it were the IUM’s. It can connect to any USB enabled device and always appear as if it was a normal USB flash drive with physical content. However, the content is never stored on the IUM and instead remains on the Host Computer at all times.

To control your IUM we have developed a tool called Infinite Portal. You can use Infinite Portal to mark which files and folders you wish to share as well as manage and control your IUM.

In addition, the IUM has a switch on its side with the label "Pair" and the Infinity symbol. Pair Mode should be selected for installing the Infinite Portal software and pairing the IUM to a Host Computer while Infinite Mode must be selected at all other times when using the IUM to share content.

Installing the Infinite Portal

Installing the Infinite Portal is a simple process. Start by setting the switch to the "Pair" position and connect the IUM to the USB port of your computer (this will become the Host Computer).

The installation for Infinite Portal will auto-run on most operating systems however on Windows Vista or 7 you may be required to run the setup file manually. Once this happens, simply follow the onscreen installation instructions.

During the installation process you may be prompted to update Adobe Air and/or the installer package. This is normal since the version that ships with the IUM may have been updated since shipping. Please download and install the update if prompted.

Once the installation is finished, you will find a software on your computer called "Infinite Portal". Please leave the IUM in Pair Mode while still connected to your computer and move to the next step.
